Quantum Integrated Photonics with van der Waals materials
We investigate light-matter interaction at the nanoscale, specializing in nonlinear and quantum integrated photonics enabled by layered van der Waals crystals. Our work spans the design, fabrication and advanced optical testing of photonic structures made from van der Waals materials, including metasurfaces, waveguides and nanoantennas, and their heterogeneous integration with traditional photonic integrated circuits.
We aim to develop chip-scale quantum devices, pioneer optical control of nano-magnetism, and realise new applications of near-field nano-spectroscopy and nano-imaging techniques.
Our research draws on 15 years of expertise in van der Waals materials, a 30-year expertise in advanced semiconductors and photonics, and is further supported by the Near-field Optical Imaging and Spectroscopy Centre (NOSC).Â
